Binders costs nothing and comes with no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Transcripts, notes, answers and to-dos are produced by machine-learning models and can be wrong or incomplete. Check anything that matters before you rely on it.
Your data is yours, and only yours
Everything Binders keeps is stored on your Mac. We hold no copy of it and cannot recover it for you. Keep your own backups.
Your responsibilities
- You decide what to record and what to capture. Many places require everyone’s consent before a conversation is recorded. Telling people, and getting any consent the law requires, is up to you.
- If you use Binders at work, follow your employer’s policies about recording and about the tools you may install.
- Use Binders lawfully, and do not use it to record or collect information about people in ways that harm them.
Open source, and other people’s software
Binders is open source under the GNU General Public License, version 3. It is built with the open-source software and models on the Licences page, and works with a language model you install yourself. Those come under their own licences and terms.
Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the publisher is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, arising from your use of Binders. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be waived.
Binders Hub
Binders Hub is free software you run on your own server, open source under the GNU Affero General Public License, version 3. We don’t host it, and we hold no copy of what it keeps. Whoever runs a hub is responsible for it: who may sign in, what its agents may reach, backing up its data and its secret, and keeping it up to date. It comes with no warranty, as above. Changes the agents make are proposed as pull requests; reviewing and approving them before they merge or deploy is up to the people using it.
